FIU showing their arrogance too!

FIU showing their arrogance too!

Quote from FIU president that FIU has become a football POWER (my emphasis - ha ha).

Wow, going 6-6 for your first breakeven year has annointed you a "power"? The Owls still kicked your butt and we sucked this year!

You had a good year, shut up a build on it and don't run your mouth like Howard did. Prove it on the field over the next five years, then you can brag about how good you are! You now have a target and expectations and Critobull wil be out of there soon anyhow for his "great coaching" (one winning year out of four - oops, have not even had a winning year yet!).

Re: FIU showing their arrogance too!

Yeah, I don't know where this sense of entitlement is coming from suddenly. Some of the comments that have been made on our boards have embarrassed me, to be honest. Some are suggesting that we reject the Pizza Bowl, as if we should be playing in a BCS bowl after our 6-6 campaign. Our AD has come out and crapped on the Little Caesar's Bowl, and our President sent out a blanket email proclaiming us a "powerhouse."
Count me as one of those who believes the sky is the limit for FIU, considering the fertile recruiting grounds we are in and MC's ability to lure some quality players to the school (even if the jury is still out regarding his coaching ability). Unfortunately, our administration is going to burn bridges before we reach our potential. No one is going to want to invite us to their bowl after our lack of gratitude and humility. Our turnout in Detroit is going to be embarrassing, too. The whole experience this post season has blackened what little reputation FIU had in the college football community and it may just come back to bite them in the ass in the future.

Re: FIU showing their arrogance too!

Well I do say congrats to you guys on a good season, I wish we had done as well. Basically our only highlight was the FIU game.

By the way, cute name but you hate Hooters???? Well, I am a leg and ass man myself!

Good luck up in Detroit, it will be a tough game, I guess the tie breaker between FIU and Toledo with nobody holding serve/home court (I am a tennis guy too) we shall see what happens on the neutral playing field.

Neutral playing field Toledo is 45 min south of Detroit, Thats like driving from West Palm Beach to the Old Orange Bowl, I don't think it's going to be neutral.

Re: FIU showing their arrogance too!

Some of our fans and administration were over the top with their comments this pass weekend. This is without doubt our most successful season and some see it for more that it really is. I think the swelling of our heads have been reduced considerably this week and rational has been restored. Hopefully we can close out the year with a W for our sake as well as the conference.

Congrats FIU4ever, you guys deserve to be going bowling after the season you had - especially spanking the Trojans…know it's been a tough row to hoe for this many years :)
