I will be pulling for Troy for a few reasons,
   

• [li]I want to beat an undefeated Troy [/li]
  [li]We would go to the NO Bowl (beat FIU first) with the win and Troy, I believe would be picked for another bowl, two Sunbelt teams going bowling is big for the conference.
  [/li][li]I have come to the conclusion I really don't like MTSU.

I happen not to like either one of them lol, but I'm pulling for MTSU. We have to beat Troy no matter what but it would be nice if we can go in AL with a blowout win against FIU and a Troy loss to MTSU. A Troy loss I think would knock them down a peg, they are still a great team but there dreams of going undefeated in the 'Belt are over and if we hopefully blow out FIU we can go into Troy full of confidence and feeling good we finally played the way we should have and put a weak team away early and feel like we can beat anyone in the belt right now.

As much as I dislike MTSU, I'll be pulling for them because Id like for FAU to win the Sun Belt outright.  We'd get the Bowl bid if we beat Troy but we'd still be listed as "co-champions".

the belt champion will go to the new orleans bowl and that's it…

there are simply too many bowl-eligible teams from the "big boys"… basically every conference this season will satisfy its bowl tie-in numbers, including navy (who is 7-4)

ACC - 7 teams over 6 wins, 3 teams with 5 wins.. will send 7 teams to bowl, possibly 10
Big East - 5 teams over 6 wins, 1 team with 5 wins… will send 6, possibly 7
Big Ten - 10 teams over 6 wins… sends 10 of 11 teams to bowls (that's AMAZING to me)
Big 12 - 7 teams over 6 wins, 3 with 5 wins… will send 7 teams, possibly 10
Pac 10 - 5 teams over 6 wins, 2 with 5 wins… possibly up to 7 bowls
SEC - 10 wins with over 6 wins, 1 with 5 wins… could send 11 teams to bowls

way too many 6-win teams this season… they would not chose troy or florida atlantic for at-larges… mtsu really lucked out last season with a down season  for the big ten… this year, the big ten was across-the-board bad, which led to parity and a lot of mediocre teams… they all qualify

I forgot about that, that makes the choice tougher but I think the possibility of an outright conference championship  trumps all of my other reasons.

Rooting for MTSU makes a lot of sense to me, as well. An outright championship (provided the Owls get past FIU and Troy, of course) would be a lot better than a tie.

You're right, also, about the number of bowl-eligible teams. The other team for which I have season tix is Air Force, which went 9-3 and most likely will go to the Armed Forces Bowl in Fort Worth. Air Force didn't win the Mountain West and that conference, like the Sun Belt, doesn't get the respect it deserves.

I'll have to take a shower afterward, but I think I have to root for MTSU in this game.

I posted this in a separate thread but is anyone getting together anywhere for the game? Maybe we can get a decent turn out to watch the game somewhere. I'm suggesting CJ's (Hillsboro & Military), Duffy's or Ale House (Yamato). As much as it pains me to say it I know most of us will be rooting for MTSU tomorrow night so I figured maybe we can all watch the game somewhere… Just a suggestion

i guess i should hold off on my New Orelans airline and hotel reservations???

i was a little worried after we lost to LA Monroe, 8-4 would have looked alot better than 7-5 or even 6-6 with a loss to Troy.

All that really matters is we win out, i hope we dont over look FIU, they have been scoring in their games, and i feel a bit better after the 1st half of UF, our Line played extremely well and i think we realy have a shot to win out…

I would like to see MTSU win. So we can see how Troy was exposed.
