Football Practice Report 8/10

Team making progress on second day

Aug. 10, 2004

Florida Atlantic University football held their second practice of the pre-season on Tuesday. Rain delayed the start of practice by 30 minutes but players resumed practice in helmet and shorts. The Owls worked on ball handling, pass protection and some light seven-on-seven and nine-on-nine drills. FAU's freshmen recorded highlights during the second day with Corey Small intercepting a long pass from Dane Hansen in seven-on-seven drills while quarterback McKinson Souveran showed off his arm with a 25-yard touchdown pass to Osnel Vilmael. Rickey Bethel made the interception of the day, stepping in front of his man on an out pattern to intercept Danny Embick's pass in wide receiver/defensive back drills. Roosevelt Bynes made the play of the day, separating himself from his defender to record a 25-yard touchdown pass from Embick on a post play.

Practice resumes on Wednesday, August 11 at 3:30 pm at the Tom Oxley Center. Admission is free and open to the public.
