FAU Dorms Still Closed

Maybe open next week. This is hard on the players because they have to live out of the hotel this entire week!
I just hope it doesn't affect their preparation too much, for a good UNT team this Saturday.

BOCA RATON ? Florida Atlantic football players didn't find cheering fans greeting them upon their return Monday after upsetting Hawaii 35-28 in overtime Saturday.

Instead the Owls found their campus darkened by power failure and their longest road trip extended by at least an extra day.

Because the entire FAU campus is without power, players stayed in a local hotel Monday.

But the Owls plan to return to the practice field today, FAU spokeswoman Katrina McCormack said. The practice will likely be closed to the public and the media.

FAU is on the road again this week when it faces three-time defending Sun Belt Conference champion North Texas at 7 p.m. Saturday.

The Mean Green lost its season opener 65-0 to No. 7 Texas on Saturday. Running back Patrick Cobbs, who rushed for 1,680 yards last season, was held to minus-1 yard rushing on eight carries.
