I guess they are still living off the high of the spanking they gave FAMU. Should be a great showdown.

Saturday marks the final game between FIU and FAU before both enter the Sun Belt Conference next season.
''It's always a big game,'' FIU coach Don Strock said. ``The schools are 50 miles away. We both recruit the same area. A lot of the players have played with and against one another down through the years. We're going to be playing the same schools as members of the Sun Belt Conference. This is a very important game for us as far as our program is concerned.''
? FIU starting defensive backs John Haritan (neck) and Greg Moss (concussion) will miss Saturday's game, team trainers said. . . . FIU receiver Chandler Williams suffered a broken rib against FAMU, and tight end Samuel Smith still is bothered by a right ankle sprain. Both are probable for Saturday.

Despite holding a 2-0 advantage in the series, Florida Atlantic coach Howard Schnellenberger has taken away a favorable opinion after each game against Florida International.
''We're really impressed from the two games we had with them in years past,'' said Schnellenberger, who will lead his 8-3 Owls against the 3-6 Golden Panthers on Saturday at Pro Player Stadium.
FIU's offense made major strides this season and enters the game as the strength of the third-year squad. The Golden Panthers have squandered several leads the past two seasons, including a 17-0 lead in a 32-23 loss to FAU last season.
''Obviously, Florida International has had a Jekyll-and-Hyde type of season,'' Schnellenberger said. ``They certainly have produced a lot of points in a lot of quarters. They have played, offensively, well enough to win ball games. Their defense hasn't kept pace with their offense. But you sure have to do a good job to slow up their offense.''
FOCUS ON THE GAME
According to the Golden Panthers, Saturday's game has more to do with bragging rights than anything else.
''It doesn't really impact recruiting as much as people think,'' said FIU lineman Daunte Foster, who practiced with FAU its first year.
``Kids are going to go where they want to go. Wherever a player feels more comfortable is where he's going to play. Saturday is just about us against them.''
Coach Don Strock has a similar sentiment.
''[FIU/FAU] recruit different areas and certain type of prospects,'' Strock said.
``Our offenses are different. On defense, they run a 3-4, we have a 4-3. We just have different areas we concentrate on.''
? FIU starting defensive backs John Haritan (neck) and Greg Moss (concussion) will miss Saturday's game, team trainers said. . . . FIU receiver Chandler Williams (broken rib) and tight end Samuel Smith (ankle) are probable.
