…5-4 to Stetson to drop to 15-9(5-4 conf) on the year. FAU had runners on first and third in the bottom of the 9th but couldnt get them in. Two games in a row-tying run stranded on third in the bottom of the ninth-argh!! >:(
As much as I hated to lose to those guys, weve just got to put this behind us and think positive the rest of the way. Next weekends series at Jacksonville will be huge for FAU. We need to start making a solid case to the NCAA's for an at-large bid in case we dont win the conference tournament. Lets hope next weekend we can start getting those missing clutch hits against JU to help our cause. But first its Harvard on Wednesday-they are the best of the Ivy league(that may not be saying much granted) so we had better be ready to play. Every win in the win column is precious now-lets get the positive vibes back on Wednesday!! Go FAU!!

The positive side is that the team BA got a boost. The negative side is that we still can't seem to get the clutch hits when needed. In both loses we had the tying run on third and the winning run on first in the second loss.

I was shocked that Storey didn't come out to start the top of the 9th even though we were down by one run. But he was able to get us out of the inning without any damage being done in spite of the fact that he came in with two on and no outs thanks to Knight and Doherty.

Why not exploit the injury to Stetson's 3rd baseman (Pruitt, who sat out the entire game due to the injury but came in as a pinch hitter in the top half, who Doherty proceeded to yield a walk to) in the bottom of the 9th by laying down a couple bunts?

Monday morning quarterbacking is fun, isn't it? These were great games, but a major disappointment to lose two out of three. I'm still waiting to see our guys put it all together…together. When we get everybody performing up to their level we will be unstoppable.

We need a "W" against Harvard to prepare us for the next "big" series at Jax. (All of our conference series will be BIG from this point forward).
