Baseball loses....again
Shapland is sucking it up so far…he's hitting .200 (8-for-40) with a mere five RBI. At least he leads the team in walks (11).
The team is also hitting .261, which is pretty pathetic and we have five starters other than Shappie batting below .250:
Albano - .250
Fonseca - .204
Block - .200
Hafer - .171
See the ball….hit the ball. It's a simple thing really.

REALLY? Since I've never had the priviledge of playing D1 baseball I don't know firsthand how simple it really is to hit a 90 mph fastball ;)
The Owls season so far can be looked at from a "good news", "bad news" viewpoint….
The Bad News: McBryde & Widlansky have been missing from the picture. And from the sounds of things will continue to be missing for an extended time as they continue to heal. McKenna didn't make the road trip due to injury. Shap may be questionable today due to injury sustained in his last at bat last night. Storey has not been the same Storey as last year so far. Although he has recorded alot of K's, he has allowed alot of hits. Storey was 4-1 last year after 5 complete games compared to 2-3 this year.
The Good News: Who woulda' thunk that Ovy & Stevens would both go 0'fer yesterday. The hitting has to turn around for the Owls. The question is when. We were in a position to win the game and that's all a coach can hope for. We've lost 4 games by 2 or less runs and had a shot to win in the late innings in a couple. Keep it up and eventually things will go your way. KC has an adequate bullpen is not afraid to use it. We have a couple in the bullpen who have the potential to start.
Let's just hope these guys can keep us in the hunt until the team is back at full strength and clicking on all cylinders. Go Owls!

The lineup to begin the series against the Green Wave!
Can't recall exactly, but close…
did we have these many commits at this time last year?
We have others who are silent on offense, two at least.
I see our plan is to run an entire football team with only LBs
