Toughest Transition Outstide of Football?
To answer the question, I think Men's basketball will have a tough transition.
Baseball started out in preseason ranked 18. I don't know what happened. If the expectations for the baseball team went the way they were supposed to, I'd say moving to the Sunbelt would be no big deal.

Mercer over Florida and Clemson
Stetson over Florida and LSU
Jacksonville over Ohio State and Penn State
North Florida over LSU
Florida Atlantic over Tennessee
That speaks pretty loudly!!!
I would throw out softball. How many Women's College World Series appearances has Louisianna-Lafayette made?

Troy just defeated No. 24 Alabama the other night. I think one of the La. teams went pretty deep in the World Series a year or three ago.
Oddly, North Texas does not have a baseball program.

Men's hoops, while still a one-bid conference, is pretty strong from top to bottom. There are more athletes overall than in the TAAC. With the exception of some teams some years (this year Southall and Denver's), the league does not produce many real big guys, so it's mainly guard-dominated league. Baseball you can compete and win right away…it's a strong league also (like the A-Sun), but you could win it and compete year in and year out from the beginning.
Women's basketball is very strong as well. Even with the departure of Louisiana Tech, there are a good number of very competitive teams year in and year out, including WKU, Middle Tn, FIU, Arkansas St., and now ULL as well. Volleyball is also tougher than the A-Sun, from past experiences.
Softball has a top 10 program in Louisiana Lafayette most every year. Obviously, the SBC has football!!!!

I didn't think there were any schools in La. that couldn't play baseball, and play it very well.
Same goes for women's basketball.
LSU–$EC tournament champ
La Tech–WAC champ
Louisiana-Monroe–semifinals of the Southland tourney; lost by one point to eventual league champ Stephen F. Austin; has won many Southland titles in the past including last year
Louisiana-Lafayette–second in the Sun Belt West this season; has been eliminated from the SBC tourney the past two seasons by Middle Tennessee
