Moving in a completely different direction, we now head to USA for a game that will not resemble the last game in any way shape or form; competition wise and speed of play that is to say…

UAB is a pretty even keeled team with both an inside and outside game…scoring is distributed pretty much evenly bewteen a pair of guards and forwards that play well together…they are a slower team by far than that of UNO…more half court sets, less penetration, and more deliberate execution style of play…they are led by the following:

6-4 JR G Demetric Bennett 12.8 PPG
6-7 SR F Leandro Buboltz 10.3 PPG
6-9 JR F Ernest Little 10.0 PPG
5-10 JR G Daon Merritt 9.8 PPG

The above group accounts for just about 70% of their total conference game offense at 66PPG…

In contrast to last games lack of size from the competition, this team is a bit more agile, mobile, and present down low on the defensive side of the ball…we still have the advantage offensively, but we will need to defend better in the post than we have against other conference opponents…although we have a skill advantage with Monroe and Parmer, they can still score…we need to keep some pressure on thier forwards defensivley…

Crews had "one of those games" last night and one would expect he will be out for blood matching up against Demetric Bennett, thier leading scorer at the guard position…should be no issue relieving him of some of his average of 12.8 PPG…

Bottom line on this game:

We should win with good effort…we play at a higher tempo, which will in all liklihood give them some trouble…i would also expect Rex to employ the press at times to "hurry" them out of thier preffered slower pace…

Monroe should have another big night down low…if we can create some turnovers, and force the temp effectively, look for another "W" and a tie for first place in Eastern Division…

No line as of yet, but would expect us to be an underdog AGAIN…despite the fact that we have burned them in all but two games…

Of concern:

"The Big Let Down"

We just had an emotional win last night…we must stay focused and treat this team with the same intensity as WKU, and UNO…they are no slack by any means…
