Alexander Part of Two Record Performances

The Florida Atlantic University's women's swimming and diving team continues to lead at the Sun Belt Championships after two days of competition. Lindsey Alexander was part of two record-breaking performances on Friday as part of the 200 yard medley relay and 100 backstroke.

The first results from Saturday were from the one-meter diving events were the FAU women took three of the top four spots. Lisa Thompson won the event as she posted a score of 241.65 in the finals after leading through the prelims. Samantha Schlachterman and Lauren Harvath finished third and fourth with scores of 232.75 and 211.00, respectively.

The women's 200 medley relay opened the night session by setting a school record and Sun Belt Conference record. Alexander, Ellie Weberg, Jessica Lampkin and Jennifer Forcht combined to post a time of 1:43.37.

Individual, Lauren Shue broke a Sun Belt Record in the 200 free. The junior won the event by 1.5 seconds with a time of 1:50.53.

In the 100 backstroke, Alexander broke her own school record that she set last season at the Sun Belt Championships. She finished second in the event with a time of 56.24.

On the men's side, senior Kyle DeCicco took second in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 56.52, just .19 seconds behind the first place finisher.
