Tough loss in the quarters and we will miss Rice and Crews, but i'm pretty excited about what Rex and these guys were able to accomplish this year. They should be very proud.

With that, let's look forward to next year's team and another step toward a Sun Belt championship and a NCAA appearance!

Someone mentioned that Walters is done recruiting. There are no more open positions. Is that true or will he be signing one or two this spring? If he does bring more players in I hope one is a tough center.

I think he is done for the 2007-08 season. You get 13 Div-1 scholarships. We have 15 players. Holley isn't using a basketball scholarship since his scholarship is in football. That means we probably have one walk on…probably Rodriquez, but not sure. I'm guessing the other 13 all have basketball scholarships.

I'm sure Rex however is actively looking at kids for the 2008-09 season, where it looks like we'll have 4 spots available.

I agree, it's looking pretty good for next year!

Does anyone know what the story is with Avery Holley- I know that he has every intention of playing basketball next season but it just seemed like he was a step behind out there because he was so late joining the team (he was hoping to get some playing time if FAU made the tourney because he should've been better by then from what I heard).

I can't imagine that Howard likes one of his receivers playing basketball hurt and possibly worsening the injury. what do you think they're gonna do?

Monroe C
Hernadez PF
Parmer SF
Graham SG
Nwoki PG

that's going to be the starting lineup going into the preseason. I would hope one of the four other recruits could battle for a starting position:
Owens
Royster
Perkins
Hugley

these guys are all supposed to be good. I think Royster is going to help out on D.

simmons
cuka
alacorn
holley
kone

all good guys but I don't see them making an impact next year.

exit… i agree with your starting lineup (except for the fact that hernandez won't be elligible until January 08 for NCAA transfer policy) and it's nwoJi, not nwoKi

Monroe C (Jr)
Parmer PF (Sr)
Simmons SF (Sr)
Graham SG (Jr)
Nwoji PG (Sr)

Bench:
Hernandez (Jr) (not elligible until January)
Alarcon (Sr) (defensive specialist off the bench… he WILL be a factor next year, he'll be a senior, don't forget that)
Kone (Sr)
Cuka (So)
Owens (Fr)
Royster (Fr)
Hughley (Fr)
Perkins (Fr)
Rodriguez-Paz (So)

the freshmen on the bench are the most talented on the team (outside of Monroe/Graham), but let's remember they are FRESHMEN… Alarcon, Simmons, Kone, and company are going to be seniors, they have played a season (or more) of D-I basketball… that's critical… it's simply not the Freshmen-4's time YET… the future is bright though

Simmons has proved to be very effective off the bench, at critical times of the game, I do think that we will have more depth on the bench, something we could have used more during the tourney.

word from Rex is he will be back…he was injured during football…basketball was when they chose to do the surgery…it should have been done earlier but Avery insisted he would get better without it…didnt happen…
