FIU - NCAA Violations

FIU has hired specialists (lawyers) to review this (per the article). I think that is one of the benefits of haveing Craig Angelos as our AD. He is a lawyer and seems very knowlegable on all the NCAA rules and requirements.

It also doesn't hurt that he used to work for the NCAA at one time.

Kinda slow on the board today.

Looks like a few scholarships will be lost. Football, basketball and baseball. Substandard graduation rates.

Don't we have some pretty decent academic counselors in the athletic dept working at the Oxley? I have heard of some of the athletes who have graduated have come back and worked over there like Laz.

I know we have had a few casualties but it seems that someone set up a pretty good system to keep the athletes on track academically. I know many of the 5th year senior football players graduate in Dec after the season is over. I believe Jarred Smith has already finished in four years and he's coming back to play one more season.

Rex is a beast when it comes to checking up on his athletes.

There is one thing I can say for sure about the coaches at FAU. They stick to the academic rules. Someone misses a class, he sits out a game, or two. Even if he is a high scoring starter like with Rice this past season.
