I am not a computer genius but it appears when the switch was made that everyones email address is accessible unless you change you're profile.  I do believe that even if you change your profile to hidden and you are a logged in member you can still see the email address.  I might be wrong here but that's how it appears.

I thought I was careful setting up the setting so that it wouldn't happen - there was some screwy things that did happen during the conversion and I might have overlooked a few items, it was rather later by the time the conversion was done.

I would suggest that everyone look over their setting in their profiles, just to be sure things are the way you want them to be.
