"In the meantime, Boca Raton, negotiate hard with the school. Don't let the town become known as host to just another traditional American tailgate party experience. BOTTOMLINE: Boca Raton cannot allow itself to turn into a tailgate party."

Having followed Ted Hutton's writing more closely since he has become much more positive towards FAU and lately much more proactive than some of his past years writing about FAU where he used to be very retroactive towards FAU's progress, I decided to write him a post in response to his latest blog to get answers from him whether he was involved etc. I am still waiting for a response.
BUT everyone on this board should write to him and in response to Sun-Sentinel in general to let them know what we feel regarding their statements.
My response to Ted Hutton below:
Ted, You work for the Sun-Sentinel. Read this article…

Who are the South Florida Sun-Sentinel Editorial Board? They wrote that article on September 22, 2007 (today) and are completely AGAINST the FAU Stadium. Please tell me you had no involvement with this article. Please tell me the writer(s) will be promptly fired! I know news is about getting reactions. BUT if a boycott by all FAU fans is what Sun-Sentinel wants they are taking MAJOR steps towards getting one. I have thoroughly enjoyed ALL your coverage of FAU. But I do remember the days when FAU despised the Sun-Sentinels coverage of FAU and it was always negative. Are we taking a trip back to negative-town? What's the real story behind this? Who wrote it? Please - any answers would be good. Any heads lopped off - better.

Re: Sun-Sentinel AGAINST FAU Getting A New Stadium
I just can't believe sometimes how people out there think they know more about running a university than a university president and board of trustees. FAU shouldn't be doing this….., they should be spending the money on this instead, FAU's priorities should be this…..
In my humble opinion, the stadium will only enhance the absolute boring life style of the community of Boca Raton.

Sun-Sentinel AGAINST FAU Getting A New Stadium
If the editorial board had studied how the traffic patterns/congestion would not be any greater than on any weekday on campus; considered how the mission of FAU has changed to that of a traditional university (and the need for stadiums, commercial, more dorms, etc.); how Palm Beach County does not have one large stadium of any kind, for any kind of game, concert or special event; how this area could support a, bringing in millions to the local economy; how Boca and the area is benefitted by the pressence of the university; how Boca is seen known nationwide every time FAU takes a giant step on th field or court, perhaps bringing in a business or biotech entity; and how the hospital and Innovation Village will be a huge community resource (I could go on), that silly "tailgating" article might not have been published.

Like Bmarkey mentioned there are so many GREAT things this University is doing and if these un-informed people only knew half of those things then they wouldn't be making comments like that, then again some just like to bring everybody down to their level - being pathetics losers.
Teddy has nothing to do with the editorals or editors - I'm sure he has his own problems dealing with his sport editors as well. The Blogging site guys gives both Marcus & Teddy a chance to give us that extra coverage we wouldn't normally get. Don't beat-up Teddy for something he has no control over, much like Marcus when Kimberly wants to do her bashing.

Re: Sun-Sentinel AGAINST FAU Getting A New Stadium
Lets get back to the holidays and take a look. Holidays run for weeks at a time from morning till night everyday of the week, which compounds the already morning and afternoon traffic gridlock. but it doesn't stop thereat night after the gridlock should be letting up it is still pretty much a mess. FAU Football games - Traffic on the weekend for the most part, traffic I would guess for about an hour and a half before the game on the roads and maybe an hour to clear the roads after. Now mind you this is not what my degree is in so I may be off on this but maybe Illi or some of the others could help out.
To all those loser's that have all the solutions as to what and where this university should be and want to have a negative impact on the growth. I say go rally against a shuffle board park and move top Century Village. >:(

i love the writers last "statement":
"BOTTOMLINE: Boca Raton cannot allow itself to turn into a tailgate party."
Real bottom line:
Better learn to embrace the fact that you can do NOTHING about this stadium moving forward, and that your "opinion" is the euqivelant of a piece of lint caught in an ass crack…
