Attendance comparison

Post

Here are some home attendance numbers for FAU and USF, thought everyone would find them interesting.I didn't count games at Dolphin Stadium since it's not really our "home" stadium. And remember, in 2006 FAU used actual attendance. We use paid attendance this season:

*USF* - 2007
Elon: 33,639
North Carolina: 37,753
West Virginia: 67,012
Average attendance: 46,135

*USF* - 2006
McNeese State: 26,351
FIU: 27,114
Rutgers: 32,493
Connecticut: 30,010
Pittsburgh: 35,671
Syracuse: 29,694
Average attendance: 30,222

*FAU* - 2007
Middle Tennessee: 11,398

*FAU* - 2006
Southern Utah: 6,431
La.-Lafayette: 9,827
Arkansas State: 8,129
Troy: 12,340
Average attendance: 9,182

FAU's biggest home crowd: 25,632 - Sept.1, 2001 vs. Slippery Rock at Pro Player Stadium (Dolphin Stadium)
FAU's biggest Lockhart crowd: 12,857 - Dec.13, 2003 vs. Colgate (I-AA semifinals)
USF's biggest home crowd: Sept.28, 2007 vs. West Virginia

So with USF's program being 4 years ahead of us, do you think we will match their average of 30,000 in 2010?

Re: Attendance comparison

30,000 is do-able.

That Colgate game had way more than 12,000 at it. The stadium was pretty full.

I was just going off what the archived official stats said.

Re: Attendance comparison

It will be a lot easier to match those numbers if the stadium gets done on time.  If we have to rent Dolphins or go to a temporary track stadium.  No.

Of course, we will need to continue to build on our success in the Sun Belt if we want to attract new fans.  Based on next few years OOC schedules, I think that will happen.

That may be difficult.  We would need a sellout in every game for that since our stadium will only hold 30k.  It depends on our success.  The fans are fickle.  You have to win to get the fans in the seats.
