after eveyrthing they did to help us get this program started, that might not be a great idea…
may want to rethink that…
They had Howard up there free of charge for four days when he took this job and allowed him an insiders view of everything they had done, had success with, and failed at…
he creidts the coaching and adminsitrative staff at USF for where we are today…
just my opinion…for what thats worth…support for this premise:
"I’m so proud of what they are doing up
there. I feel like they are an older brother. They
have been very hospitable. I couldn’t think of anyone
better to get the best blue print I could get.
They have been very gracious to do that. We have
been following them very closely and are hoping
against hope that they would do just what they have
done. Now, it becomes my problem because they
have become so stellar. They have grown in stature
beyond their years. They are in a position to make
history as the season winds down."
"It was more of how to start a football team with the
exclusion of X’s and O’s. That was something I had
no background in and virtually no one has a background
in starting a football team. They had great
success bringing Leroy Selmon in as a well known
person in the Tampa area and an all-star with the
Bucs. How he was able to lead the program in the
areas that it needed to be led to generate the funds
that would be necessary to run the team with. The
athletic director Paul Griffin explained the hoops
you would need to go through to start a team both
at the state level and at the NCAA level. All these
things you can’t find. You have to do it on your
own unless you can find someone like South
Florida who has just gone through that about four
years before Florida Atlantic went into this direction.
I spent about four days up there and they were
very gracious. They taught me all the things that
they thought were important and all the things that
they would do differently if they had a chance. But,
it was a great help to me to walk through the mine
fields of failure to get through to success."

So, I should be cheering for both teams on Saturday? Ridiculous.
For one day, I can hate these guys. **** the Bulls.

Excellent. I'm sure you'll be the most popular person in first grade with a shirt like that.
