New baseball stadium

Not sure when it's going to happen (my money is after 2010, at which point we'll have the renovated Burrow, football stadium, new track, and this will be the last piece of the puzzle) but I came across four renderings of the new baseball stadium that I don't believe anyone's posted here before:

(from http://www.archimagestudios.us/exterior.html)

The place looks very nice! How much did they say they needed? $10 million?

And is there really room for this over there? With the plaza and the fountains? It's just so close to the swim facility…

Re: New baseball stadium

These look different the ones posted here a while back?  Look great.

I wondering if they are taking down the field house, where the locker rooms next to the pool to make room for the fountain?  Those thing do need to go.

Those look awesome, I really hope they can get a new baseball stadium on the agenda because Cooney deserves it. He's built an incredible program with very little resources. I bet he could do wonders with that facility.

Re: New baseball stadium

Without the fountains and the nice entrance (sidewalk), there is no need to expand. All they need to do is tear down current seats and press box and replace with cement press box and new seats. Then, turn the grassy berms on the foul lines into seats. Looks like it can be done.

They put these prints about (going through my brain Role-a-dex) maybe three years ago when baseball celebrated it's 25 anniv. and brought in a big baseball name (was it Clemens?) to help raise the money for one night.

Re: New baseball stadium

that stadium looks un-freaking-believable… unfortunately, smitty is right when he says these drawings were unveiled 3 years ago (there has even been a brochure on the baseball section of fausports.com to donate for the stadium with your name on seats… that's been on the website for 3 years)

it was clemens and it was in 2004… they gave him an honorary #22 jersey

Love that stadium. I say let's do it, right after football.

New baseball stadium

You can tell they're old by the typeface used for "Florida Atlantic University" - it's not the new design.

The new stadium is really up to us in Owl Country because it will only happen if donations are raised for it. The athletic department barely breaks even and would have to rely on fund raising to get it started. So, if you want to see the stadium, you probably have to think about donating yourself. Unfortunately, without a serious feasibility study and architectural plan with an estimated project cost you can't seriously raise funds.

Re: New baseball stadium

Wouldn't it be great to lose all of those City of Boca utility facilities over by the athletic fields and free up all that land. The baseball stadium would have plenty of room to spread out.

That stuff doesn't belong next to a university.

It's, what, a water purification plant? And there's also FPL buildings. And they want to accomodate the city more, from what I understand. It's unbelievable.

And they also want to build an FAU high school building on campus. Like we have room for all this stuff. We're not spread out like UF or UCF.

im still, to this day, not sure why that was constructed - donated is mor elike the correct term…i mean, i dont see the tangible "benefit" from basically allocating the fields to solitary city use?  someone please feel free to share if they have any idea….

i remember when it was done, years ago…but what has come from it as an ROI vantage i dont see…
