If you go to any professional (or high level college) they have an entire game presentation dept. in charge of things like this. I understand FAU probably doesn't have the budget, but at least put someone in charge. Or at the very least, play recorded music all pre-game long. There were 5-10 minute stretches where all you could hear was the sound of the kickers warming up. Also, game presentation-wise, there are always timing problems getting dance teams on and off the field, on field presentations taking too long, band stopping/starting play at the right time…..these are little things, but if you come into the stadium as an outsider (and there was a small but vocal showing from A-State….or even worse, just a local casual football fan coming to a game for the first time) you would leave thinking that the program is really bush league.
The athletic department does a much better job of this during basketball games, so they need to carry it over to football. Hopefully someone in the athletics dept reads this and can get some of these problems fixed going forward.
