"They were double swiping our student IDs…
Attendance: 5734
At the game last night at the east entrance, the entrance that the students that use their ID's have to go to. They do it usually for attendance but it was the first time this season that they have done it to my friends and I. They did it last year."
Just thought that might be an interesting sidenote from our FAU/UF discussion…

A lot of colleges boost their attendance numbers…not a really big deal.
But don't they boost their attendance by announcing tickets sold and include press, not double-swipe ID's? Because if it *IS* okay by NCAA rules, then we should be doing it and our attendance should be somewhere in the 20k+.

At FAU they count students using a handheld counter….or at least they did for basketball last year. How accurate is that? It really isn't that big of a deal. Let's just start selling out games and we won;t have to worry about it.

The point is… and I moved away from it in that last post… that double-swiping ID's to boost attendance seems to violate NCAA rules and the NCAA should be made aware of that.

so whats the skinny here? if they dont average 15k, then what??
because, in all likelihood, they will not this year…
Every school will reach 15k… it's measured in tickets "sold", not attendance. As long as a ticket was bought at at least a certain price it counts as someone in attendance, even if the ticket is never used. If FAU counted actual attendance we would also fall below 15k.
