Sun Belt Conference to add 10th team...
South Alabama is now adding football in 2009 (full FBS/I-A by 2013)…
not sure if we'll still in the Belt, but this is good for football nonetheless… USA is a great program in the Belt in basketball and baseball, will only add to college sports with football

Maybe not, but an SBC with 10 teams and 3 bowls is more compelling than one with 8 teams and 1 bowl tie-in.
If one day UALR also adds football, a school like Texas State joins for all sports, and UNO and Denver find new homes (giving the SBC 12 all-sports members and a championship in football) it might be a good long-term fit for FAU. There's so much parity in the SBC, I don't see why every team can't be as good as Troy was this year on a consistent basis.

Troy gets most of its talent from Florida (mostly north and panhandle) and south and central Alabama (more Florida players than any other I-A school). UAB seems to get players out of Mobile, from what I read.
