Color Debate: "Stop the Madness"

Post

ok, im not trying to start a fire here, but with all due respect to EVERYONE'S opinion, i think it is time for us to go to the next level…the leadership has made it clear what our colors are…and to try and push the effort to unite and bcecome "one" i am posting this thread…i posted in football, but didnt want it to get "lost" in the shuffle…

The University has made an official decision regarding the usage of colors (actually it was done long ago, but no one enforces it), and what is primary, and what is secondary…here is the bottom line…now, as fans, we either embrace this, and encourage others to embrace it (especially fans groups, and SG leaders who want to deviate) or just stop aruging about it (and simply do our on thing quietly)…because there is nothing to "argue"…it is what it is - in plain and simple black and white…to be team players, we should embrace what they are asking…

For the record:

Here is what the University has made official - taken from the fAU website:

"Primary Identity Colors

Color is one of the most important elements of the FAU visual identity.
FAU Blue is the dominant color in all University communications.  FAU
Red is to be used as a complement to FAU Blue and should never be the
dominant color
. FAU Silver (and its nonmetallic alternative FAU Gray)
may be used with FAU Blue and FAU Red as an accent only. Black (or
white, when reversed out) may be used as a substitute on FAU logos if
none of the official colors is available."

There you have it…not much to "argue" with there…

If anyone would like to validate this…here is the link…see page 2:

Re: Color Debate: "Stop the Madness"

Im behind it all the way.

However will all the assorted "Groups" get behind and follow the policy?

I ordered a NO Bowl Blue shirt cause I like the color better on a shirt. Now I know I will be "inline" with what the school is looking to consolidate as its identity.

I have come here to chew bubble gum and kick @$$ and I'm out of bubble gum.

fauowl09, you are very good with graphics…can you come up with a mock of a plain blue shirt that matches pantone color blue, and simply add "FAU" (in collegiate font) in the red pantone with a white outline aound the red…i think if folks saw how that looked, it would be embraced…

Easy:

If departments, clubs, and even SG officers administrate funds for, and/or produce items, etc that dont conform to the guidelines, and violate it - you lose your budget.

Any questions?

;D

A great idea, but who will enforce it? Hopefully people would but obviously this color identity plan has been on the books for a while, and yet we still have the issues? The school would need to enforce it somehow.

Frank Brogan
Craig Angelos
SG President

its not hard to hold people accountable…it's actually sticking by your decision on the colors that is the hardest…
