It is time for the final prediction of the year. Both teams have potent offenses so this could be a high scoring affair. I give the edge to FAU in terms of an overall balanced attack. I also give FAU the nod defensively. It should be a big day for the OWLS. However, the regular season means little when attempting to predict a bowl game. I think two things will be factors in this one. The fact that this is FAU's first bowl game means that the team should come out extra fired up. If FAU can avoid the gitters of playing on the big stage this should be a win. The second big contributing factor in this game is speed. FAU has more overall speed than Memphis and as a result I see FAU using that speed to their advantage. Look for Rusty to pass for 300+ yards and 3 TDs. The FAU running game will also get involved and expose a weak Memphis defense for 150+ yards.

no point prediction here…but i will obviously go with FAU…

i see two ways and two ways only…both with FAU winning…im not impressed with Memphis whatsoever, and think we are a better team in most categories - coaching and preparedness being a huge one…this is being OBJECTIVE, not fan based partisanship…

either a:

FAU wins by 6 points or less

or b:

FAU wins by 17+

no in between…

reason for this is that we can play two ways:

close (as we did all season long no matter who we play on our level, slightly above, or below)

or we can blow this team out if we hang on to the lead we generate and finish (which we only did at FIU for all intents and purposes)

i like the second scenario better…

coach has played memphis many times.  we have the upper hand and are favored.  im going up there for the win.

I predict FAU blowing Memphis out. I think our last 2 games of the season showed that we are turning a corner. All season we had a problem pulling away from our opponents, but the last 2 games showed me they are coming together. Yes, I am aware that Troy came back and closed that gap, but I think the guys just got nervous towards the end, because they were starting to play with fear rather then playing with confidence. However, that win showed the team that they are the best in the conference and they will carry that confidence into New Orleans. I expect we will come out firing on all cylinders. Once we start to pull away, I think Memphis will implode and we will run away with the game. As for the score...I think FAU wins by 20.

i have no prediction, however i keep reading predictions and predictions.......and i am not doubting my boys but this is their first bowl game, their first anything really.....no body is counting the experience factor of a type of game like this.......i am alittle worried we may come out flat due to butterflies....and experience in a bowl game....

Well according to Hutton, Memphis is SO confident they didn't even practice today. Landed about 3pm, then did some shopping around and went into Harrah's Casino.

I'm not sure who Memphis thinks they are playing, this is FAU not FIU. I don't think we're going to blow them out we haven't done it to anyone but FIU this season. I think we get up by 15 and win by 5. My prediction is that we will have an unlikely hero (of course besides Rusty) I think Warley hits 4 big FG's and is the unsung hero and we all forgive him for USF

I think the players understand we are on the cusp of something big.  We have shown we can blowout opponents but have struggled to close them out.  If Rusty continues to make great decisions, and we continue to dominate in the turnover category, we have the ability to steam roll this team.  I think we do it and go into '08 ready for Texas.  Take the Owls, give the points and cash in the bet.
