Re: Tonights game: Longwood...

Geeze! 53-16 FAU near the half.

This Longwood team (how in the world could they have gotten on the FAU schedule? … and FAU went there first!) is being dismantled.

55-18 at the half.

The Owls have a 37-point lead. This is getting ugly FAST.

call it ugly but the players are probably having more fun then they thought possible.

Why would they schedule a team like this?

Fledgling said

Why would they schedule a team like this?

Just got back from the game.  I left before the 2nd half.  Not much to say…Longwood is pretty terrible.  We played a good game and did a good job of blowing out an inferior opponent.

I'm not against scheduling a team like this for a game at the start of the season…perhaps as a home opener, but when you combine having Longwood, with other OOC games like Savanah St., North Florida, FCGU, etc., it just shows that we have a long way to go as far as getting higher quality opponents to come here.  1 or 2 games like this a year is fine.  Other mid-major and major conference teams have played Longwood this year.  But we need to get home games against teams like USF and UCF.  Heck, I'd even take games against the upper level A-SUN teams…at least that would be a better test for us.
