Who cares what Gregg Doyel from Fairfield, OH has to say about FAU? I suppose he has some credibility though…after all he does have All Star Poster status and his motto is "Won't you be my neighbor" :

Uh, he's a national columnist for CBSSports.com. I guess I should put that in the original post.
OK…but he's still a tool.

Maybe the title "Doyle's dribbles" would be better served by describing a bodily function he experiences each night while sleeping.
He REALLY needs to find a better "outlet" for the obvious repressed anger and bitterness he's holding in…
I mean, really…look at this "columnist":
And, no, im not hating on the guy…i just dont appreciate bitter posts…
Especially if they aren't truthful at the core…

Doyel's a national columnist from a reputable media source which means he's paid to have opinions. It's just like Greg Stoda in the PBP or Ethan Skolnick in the SS, people don't always agree (or like) their columns either.
It really gets tiring how this board generally just brushes off media people who have ANYTHING negative to say about FAU, whether justified or not.

Doyel is certainly entitled to his opinion. However, just because he writes for CBSSports doesn't make his opinion any better than anyone elses. I just don't think it is very good journalism to write what he did in that blog without any facts supporting it. It is one thing for some random poster to do that, but if you are a writer for a "reputable" media outlet(although I'd argue that CBSSports is one of the worst "big time" sports news sites out there), it would be nice to add a fact or two when you make allegations against someone.
Here here!
Great point!
Nothing more than a "bitter spew" - AKA "rant".

It's not that this was a rant or negative or any of that. It just seems disingenuous to me. He has no opinion of FAU unless he can write something negative. If he liked the move, would he have written about it? Doubt it. This guy NEVER writes about FAU and likely knows nothing about the school or it's basketball program. He didn't do any research on this story, but writes how bad a move it is? If that is his knee-jerk reaction, fine, but CBSSports puts it right next to the AP story on it's site which makes it look to the world as if this guy is some sort of expert on the topic, when that is not the case.
