Ouch, a 15 seed!  :o

AZ will be EXTREMELY tough, but think we can win the consolation game…likely against Santa Clara…

Sure would be nice to get to Madison SQ Garden though :)

A 15 seed seems pretty accurate to me given the field.

GO OWLS!!!

would have liked to have seen 12, or 13…would have given us a better chance at MSG! :)

Its like Texas….we have to believe.  Jarvis will get them as ready as he can to play Arizona, and if we win that will do wonders for the program just like a win at Texas would.

I'm just glad he got us in the Pre-Season NIT….its good exposure.

I won't be down there for a couple of weeks so I can't say for sure but I would imagine they would start soon.

Re: 2008 Pre Season NIT Field Announced...

looking at the field, crossing my fingers, and believing the article that all teams will play 4 games (although the bracket indicates 2 teams in the consolation bracket may play only 3), I think the Owls have a real shot at (worst case 2-2) coming out of the NIT with a winning record.  There is every reason to think that we can compete with either Loyola team and if roster of returning players is any indication, we can take Santa Clara down (although they have a very effective big man who could decimate our front line) as well.

I'm sure PG and Los will show up, Royster, Hughley and Perkins need to come out of the gate breathing fire.  With the possible exception of Tucker, anything we get from our Freshmen this early in the year will be icing on he cake.

Might be wishful thinking, but FAu could come out of the NIT with newfound respect and great momentum.

i agree…

on a side note:

think there may be a bit of a surprise regarding the starting line-up taking the floor…

IMO, it will be this:

Los - 5
Rosyter - 4
Graham - 3
Richardson - 2
Tucker - 1

Bench:

Nwoji - 1
Hughley/Gagel - 2
Perkins - 3
Hernandez - 4

Specialist for situationals and zone(s):

Gagel - 2

Los will be playing ALOT of minutes…….
