Southern Miss has run out of its allotment of tickets for the R+L Carriers Bowl and is requesting additional tickets from the bowl.
The Golden Eagles, who are making their seventh consecutive bowl appearance, sold their original allotment of 6,875 for this Sunday's game against Troy. Southern Miss has been to 19 bowls in its history and just twice – the 1997 and 2003 Liberty Bowls – have the Golden Eagles sold more tickets than this season.
"We are extremely excited about the number of tickets we have sold so far and we want to thank our fans for the great support they have shown for our team and coaches," Richard Giannini, Southern Miss director of athletics said. "We also want to stress to our fans that they can still buy tickets in the Southern Miss section from our ticket office. Our goal is to turn the city into Southern Miss Black and Gold that weekend."
