FAU Men’s Tennis Fell to No. 11 FSU
We had a great tennis player on the men's team…. ranked top 50 in the country at one point… can't remember his name. He transferred to another school when one of our coaches took a job at the other school.

Hmmm…….
That has been the achilles heel of our tennis prgram…we got a great coach recently…problem is they don't want to pay them anything. So they leave.
Although, can you blame them?
Tennis is not lighting up the revenue charts…
On a side note:
FAU has solicited the Williams family (locals by the way) repeatedly for assistance in building the program, and there was no reciprocated interest to be involved.

I've never seen them though.
It is unacceptable that a school like FAU does not invest few thousand dollars on better tennis courts.

Don't they play at a really nice off-campus site though?
Tennis will never be at the forefront of FAU's budget priorities, unfortunately.

They guys are 2-2 on the year with wins over Xavier and Bethune Cookman University. They lost to #11 FSU (2-5) and #17 U of M (3-4). They play #23 Rice at Patch Reef Park this Saturday at 1:00.
Alex it takes much more than a "couple thousand" dollars to build tennis courts.(Resurfacing the current courts alone would cost a minimum of $50,000) We do have a new tennis facility on the athletics facilities master plan. As you know our top priority right now is the on campus football stadium. We feel like we have a great home at Patch Reef Park until a donor is identified for the tennis complex.

The tennis teams practice and play at Patch Reef Park. It is a great facility located less than 3 miles off campus.

She's right dude.
Angelos has already said he cares about the tennis courts but it's football first, then baseball. One thing at a time.
We all want this campus to grow in a million directions overnight but it's not easy.
