The Florida Atlantic softball team fell to #8 Michigan 6-2 on Saturday night.

FAU got out to an early 2-0 lead in the second when two Wolverine errors led to two FAU runs. The lead was cut in half in the third when a Bree Evans sacrifice fly scored Stephanie Kirkpatrick.

Michigan scored four runs in the fourth inning to take 5-1 lead. The Owls threatened in the bottom of the inning but could not capitalize. A Dorian Shaw solo homerun provided the final margin of victory.

Was not able to make it to Saturday night game but on Friday night the team played with a lot of heart and fundamentally sound.  They beat #24 UMass and then after losing their starting right fielder to a foot injury still hung on to beat Maryland.  I think this year looks promising for the girls and a trip back to the NCAA tournament is clearly within their sight.

Wpierson is back!!!!  it must be baseball/softball season!
