Men's Tennis Knocks Off 65th Ranked Stetson Hatters
The Owls did something they haven’t done in seven matches and that was to drop the double point. The no. 1 FAU duo of Eddie Majcher and Marc Abdelnour defeated Njal Stene and Chris Swanteson 8-3 to keep their doubles streak alive, but FAU found itself down by one heading into singles play.
Stetson would win just one more point as the Owls rolled through the singles. Marc Abdelnour, ranked no. 77, led the Owls with a straight-set victory and improved to 16-3 on the season. Abdelnour is 11-0 in dual match play.
Daniel Vardag took an exciting match at No. 2 defeating Mark Mestan 6-1, 3-6, 6-3. At no. 3 Lawrence Harradine also improved to 16-3 on the season with a 7-5, 6-4 victory over Njal Stene.
Joshua Scholl and Eddie Majcher rounded out the scorers for FAU at nos. 4 and 6, respectively.
FAU will next travel to Orlando, FL where the team will face UCF on March 6 and Georgia State on the 7th.
