Florida Atlantic' Video Coordinator Steve Cutcher was named the Sun Belt Video Coordinator of the Year at the 15th annual CSVA conference in Jacksonville, FL on May 14th 2009.

This is Cutcher' first Conference Coordinator of the Year win. He is now in the running for the Bob Matey National Video Coordinator of the Year.

Steve Cutcher joined the football staff in the fall of 2001. Since that time he has been a part of the national championship run in 2003 and two bowl championships. Like so many of Howard Schnellenberger's hires, Cutcher came with tremendous experience, especially in the area of football. Cutcher came by way of the XFL Orlando Rage, a position he held during the spring of 2000. Along with his position with the XFL, he served as an assistant video coordinator at the University of Central Florida.

Prior to that, he was an offensive graduate assistant at UCF working primarily with the quarterbacks and breaking down film of opponents.

At FAU, Cutcher is responsible for filming practices and games for the coaching staff. He is in charge of video analysis of opponents and self-scout of FAU. He also keeps an extensive library of high school football games for recruiting purposes.

Cutcher has also been a golf operations manager at Indian Springs Country Club. He has served as a football coach for youth teams and volunteered his time with high schools.

The Phoenix, AZ, native graduated from Palm Beach Community College with an associate of arts degree. He followed with a bachelor of science degree in physical education from the University of Central Florida, where he also earned hours toward a master's degree.

Steve is an AMAZING person. For those that are close to the program and haven't had the chance to speak with him, shame on you. No matter what he is doing, he stops…extends his hand…. and says "how are you." HE IS A TRUE OWL.

And some of you may think I'm just trying to pump him up… or may call it "kissing up to him." If you think that… then shame on you. That means you haven't actually talked to him before.

He's a person of amazing character. He and his staff work tirelessly to turn around video for highlights, for practice, etc. I can't say enough about him.

Good luck to Steve.

A few prOWLers purchased a brick in his honor about a year ago for the brick sidewalk. He is truly an unsung hero.
