Our Human Powered Sub team has won first place at the International Submarine Races this year. Their speed record is 6.295knots. FAU was apart of the creation of this program back in 1989 the races were held off the Palm Beach coast. We set our first official speed record at the June 1991 races. The team took a hiatus after 1993 and came back in 2005. Now the venue is held at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division David Taylor Model Basin
Bethesda, Maryland. This years team had a total redesign of the sub changing it from a two man where one would peddle and one would steer, to one man doing both. Congratulations Team!

International Submarine Races

Kudos to your team !!
I would not want to be the driver of the sub - being screwed in as well as exerting yourself while inhaling canned gas - looks very dangerous to me

Congratulations !!!

Way to represent FAU OE. Some good competition. We beat UF and some other good engineering schools like Michigan, VT and Texas A&M which has a good OE program too.
Good name for the sub too, Talon 1
