The champions from the Mountain West Conference, Western Athletic Conference, Conference USA, Sun Belt and Mid-American Conference do not get automatic entry into the big-money BCS games, but can play their way in.

Every FBS team deserves a shot, maybe a long shot, but everyone deserves a shot at the championship, and this ONE BCS bowl game is not the answer.

We would have to have a tough OOC schedule, win every game and blow every SB team out of the water to even get a "look at".
2011 looks like a tough OOC schedule. Now we just have to win all of them by blow outs.

Re: Sun Belt headed to the Rose Bowl
Also lets say we did run the table and we finished outside the top 12 what bowl game would they stick us in or any non bcs team that goes undefeated and doesn't get into a bcs game. It would be weird for Undefeated FAU with wins over Nebraska and South Carolina to play in the New Orleans Bowl.

Utah beat one BCS team last year not including the bowl game and that was Michigan in week one.
They also beat 9-4 Oregon State.
Going undefeated automatically means BCS invite. Last season Ball State was undefeated going into the MAC championship game and even with a win no one was projecting them to go to a BCS game. Of course they lost that game so we don't know for sure if they would have been chosen or not but there wasn't much of a chance of them getting the nod over a 10-2 Ohio State team or a 12-0 Boise State team.
But looking at your OOC games if you do happen to go undefeated I can't see any reason why FAU would be excluded from a BCS game.
