Defense continues to weaken in South Carolina

Post

COLUMBIA, S.C. - South Carolina defensive end Clifton Geathers was arrested early Sunday and charged with resisting arrest, public drunkenness and disorderly conduct, according to several published reports.

It's unclear how the arrest will affect Geathers' season. If he is suspended for any games, he will be the second USC defensive lineman to miss time - defensive tackle Ladi Ajiboye will miss the first three games of the year after a February arrest.

Re: Defense continues to weaken in South Carolina

This is just nuts.

EVERYTHING seems to be going FAU's way in regards to our opposition.

Nebraska loosing one of thier best RB's

USC loosing players,

Troy lost thier best CB to inelligibility.

Perhaps the fates have alligned?  ;D

I have come here to chew bubble gum and kick @$$ and I'm out of bubble gum.

It pays to run a clean program.

Re: Defense continues to weaken in South Carolina

You got to hand it to the big programs…. apparently being arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, drunkenness and resisting arrest is equivalent to a one-game suspension.

"South Carolina starting defensive end Clifton Geathers will serve a one-game suspension once he is medically cleared to play."
Clifton Geathers, of South Carolina Gamecocks, to serve 1-game ban - ESPN

"If the junior is medically cleared before the Gamecocks' opener with North Carolina State on Thursday night, he would miss that contest. If it takes longer for approval, Geathers could miss South Carolina's game with Georgia on Sept. 12."

Something tells me that they are "concerned" that without him, thye may have battle on their hands when the Owls make the way to Columbia!

NU, tall order…USC, not as tall!

Bottom line in SEC, don't want to lose your season opener, no matter what (especially to UGA).

What we don't teach about ethics and the law to these kid's amazes me. Then we wonder where the Vick like attitudes come from?

SC should be ashamed at itself and step in and furter suspend the player AND whomever made this decision!
