Just got off the phone with Jervonte Jackson's agent, who said Jackson will sign with the Jaguars pending passage of a physical.
"They told him to bring a suit and tie," agent Latish Kinsler said, because the Jaguars are playing at Philadelphia Thursday night.
Jackson, a defensive lineman who finished his career with FAU last year, orginally was signed as an undrafted free agent with the Eagles, but was cut shortly after preseason camp began.
Getting picked up this late could be good news for Jackson. He might get some playing time Thursday, so tune into the game if you can get it.
And that means he could be going against his half-brother, Jamaal Jackson, who plays center for the Eagles.
Kinsler, who also represents Frantz Joseph, said Joseph still has not gotten any offers and his home in Fort Lauderdale working out in hopes he gets another chance.
Joseph was signed as a free agent by Oakland but was let go a week before the Raiders opened their preseason camp.
Later…

Also thank god for Ted's blog. He is the only good source of info on FAU football. Neither Coach's or FAU Athletic's twitter pages have anything on this. In fact, neither has been updated with any news since Sunday. Even FIU Athletic's twitter gets updated more than ours: http://twitter.com/FIUAthletics?KEY=&DB_OEM_ID=11700&DB_LANG=&IN_SUBSCRIBER_CONTENT=

I don't mean to trash FAU, but their SIDs don't do a great job of getting Owls athletics info to its fans. Especially given today's technology.

I like the idea but boy have we just become SO dependant on having everything NOW. Wasnt too long ago that you had to wait for the Morning paper to read anything like this.
Now Im somewhat Biased because Twitter is blocked at my Job (Probably a good thing, look how much time I spend on Message boards, If I had access to twitter id be a disaster) but I think we all have become to dependant on instant gratification.
That being said, IF FAU is going to use the medium, then they should USE it and not slack.
I have come here to chew bubble gum and kick @$$ and I'm out of bubble gum.

Let's hope he passes that physical then.

Ted is a pretty good source of information, but so is OwlsNest. There's been a number of things that Ted hasn't posted and we've learned from Owls Nest, and of course Vice Versa. As for Twitter I like it and I am on it, on a consistent basis. You can follow Ted on there and he updates on a regular basis.
Can't really put any blame on coach for not updating his twitter, I mean I think he has better things to do with a game coming up in 11 days and I dont think he has time to follow what's going on with his former players right now

I think they do a great job given the landscape they have to work within:
Last year, FAU had 5 people in the Athletic's Media Relations Office…
As of this Friday (due to cutbacks), they will have 2, who will work 60+ hours a week during game weeks…and have to cover all sports…and schedule and sit in on interviews, etc etc…
Besides, due to Univetsity rules, etc they can't say anything about players until its "official"…the Jags havent said anything yet…

While I was unaware their staff was cut in half; however, if they are going to use twitter as a media tool, they need to use it correctly. Otherwise, you will have people like me complaining. How does FAU expect to increase its amount of twitter followers if they offer limited updates. I say use it correctly or don't use it.

Fair point…
On a side note:
What do you think of twitter in general?
We have yet to do anything with it thus far…still looking at it and how it could work, or not work, if not maintained correctly…

I think it could be valuable for this site in similar to the way Ted uses his…breaking news, a new article posted, and if there's a topic that's blowing up on the board, a mention of it. Remember a lot of people have twitter linked to their cells so I get a text when someone updates, that's how I stay linked.
Check out the beta site Cotweet.com, it may be useful for you and the admins for running one Twitter account with a handful of users.

There's a fine line between a good tweeting volume vs too much…I have Lance Armstrong turned "on" during the races but have to turn him off when he's not racing because there are too many "taking the kids to school listening to Bon Iver" tweets, I just can't take it!
