Quarterback play
“Jeff Van Camp…got an opportunity to take his series in the second quarter, which we traditionally are gonna do…we’re gonna make sure we that we get it done this year…because he’s a junior and preparing for the position next year.
He moved the ball more consistently that Rusty did…put us in positions to do something…and to score some touchdowns…tucked the ball under his arms a couple of times and turned bad plays into good plays.”
Secondary play
“Rodriguez…freshman played well for playing in the first game…and Bartels, our reserve safety played strong.”
Offense in general
“Let’s give some credit to the offensive line…we weren’t sacked and we weren’t hurried. Receivers had a difficulty getting enough separation in the man to man coverage we were facing…was the reason why for the most part we didn’t do better in the passing game.”
The running game we were going against a very good defense. It was a combination of not taking advantage of situations we had made for ourselves and could have been a lot better…tight ends were being covered very closely by the linebackers and a safety…they had a good scheme against us.”
No sacks or hurries is definitely something to be proud of.
