Owls look for points to follow yards
Now the points just need to follow suit.
Florida Atlantic's offense is averaging nearly 400 offensive yards per game, a top-50 mark despite playing two teams from Bowl Championship Series conferences.
But the Owls are scoring less than 15 points per game, ranking 115th out of 120 teams.
"This has been a big-play team," Florida Atlantic coach Howard Schnellenberger said. "We had several plays that could have materialized. … We are without the play of our most seasoned receiver in Cortez Gent. Other than that, we are just a freckle away from making the play."
