Owls in familiar position
Now FAU (1-4, 1-1 Sun Belt) is eyeing another late-season run with UL (4-2, 2-0) next on the schedule at 4 p.m. Saturday at Cajun Field.
"It puts your back against the wall, and evidently that's what has helped our football team be able to win consistently during that time," FAU coach Howard Schnellenberger said of his program's recent slow starts. "But just because it has happened doesn't mean that it's going to happen again, but we're going to work like hell to make it happen."
