We are going to see a different looking FAU team without Rusty Smith on the field. I think we can expect good things from JVC, but we should anticipate Morris carrying the load early on. FAU should match up well athletically and the chemistry and confidence with a new QB under center will be important.
On defense FAU needs to account for the athletic ability of UAB. This is a team that pulled off an upset against UTEP and should be considered a real threat going into Saturday's game. UAB will move the ball and this will be another game with 900+ yards total offense and lots of points on the board.
In the end JVC turns some heads and FAU pulls out a W at UAB.

FAU 31
UAB 28

I would expect for UAB to stack the box & try to limit the damage up the middle where Morris is the most dangerous - similar to what Middle did, force him outside. It might be OK to pass to set-up the run, the Blazers will be expecting us to establish the run early with a newbie under center.
Jeff should have a good game, it will be important for him to have a good start. Game planning will be just as important, making sure you give Jeff the best chance to manage the game early and allow him to have successes - picking up first downs and staying in 3 & short would be nice.
The defense will have to bring it up another notch and give the offense a chance to get settled.
I hope we aren't so conservative on offense that we become too predictable :

Re: FEARLESS PREDICTIONS FAU@UAB
But, Owls roll due to a couple of things:
- One dimensional QB for the most part for UAB
- They have a terrible secondary
Result:
Van Camp should enjoy a solid first outing as starter, and could find some yardage on the ground as well due to designed play calling.
Morris goes over 100 again, and we don't have any kicks, or punts blocked either!
Vegas is smoking crack on this one.

I think it could be a one point game, but there is no way the FAU defense only gives up 13. I hope I am wrong.

The Defense has got to show up sometime, why not at UAB?
