Sophomore strong safety Marcus Bartels had his career interception and a return of 20 yards. Bartels INT, which ended a second quarter drive, is the fourth of the season for the Owls.

Junior quarterback Jeff Van Camp rushed for his third touch down of the of the season marking the first time in the program’s nine year history that a quarterback has rushed for three scores in a seson.

FAU will next play host to Western Kentucky University . It will mark the second time the two teams have met and the first time at FAU.

Arkansas State Red Wolves

Alex Carrington recorded his fourth sack of the season and now has 16.5 for his career, which is the fifth most in school history.  He passed Lynn Rowland and Michael Cline on the ASU records chart.

ASU recorded 7.0 tackles for loss against the Blue Raiders, its third most of the season.  It was the most tackles behind the line of scrimmage for ASU since it posted 9.0 against Troy .  Alex Carrington, who finished the game with 1 TFL, now has a team-leading 8.5 for the season.

Senior S M.D. Jennings recorded his first interception of the season and the fifth of his career.  ASU, which now has six interceptions as a team, snapped a two-game streak without an interception.

Jennings also had a team-high nine tackles during the game.  Jennings leads the team in tackles (63) and fumble recoveries (3) and is tied with Daylan Walker for the team high in pass break-ups with 6.

Senior RB Reggie Arnold scored his team-leading 11th rushing TD of the season, giving him 32 for his career and leaving him just one shy of tying the second most in school history.  Arnold posted his most rushing yards since the FIU game when he had 104.  Now with 3,775 career yards , he is 173 yards away from breaking the school record for career rushing yards.

FIU Golden Panthers

FIU went into Florida Field with an upset on their mind, but the top-ranked Florida Gators scored early and often to leave no doubt and beat the Panthers 62-3, Saturday afternoon in Gainesville .

For the Panthers, T.Y. Hilton looked to be back to his old self as he led all FIU receivers with four catches and 75 yards. He also returned four kicks for 92 yards giving him 167 all-purpose yards, the most he has had since racking up 224 against ULM on October 3. On defense, underclassmen led the way as freshmen Jonathan Cyprien and Markieth Russell had nine and seven tackles, respectively while sophomore Aaron Davis had eight stops.

Scott Bryant ’s fourth quarter tackle was his fifth of the game and 295th of his FIU career, which tied him with John Harritan for second on FIU’s all-time list. He then passed him with his sixth tackle of the game. He finished the contest with six stops, giving him 296 for his career. Keyonvis Bouie is the all-time leader with 299.

The 62 points is the second most ever given up by FIU and the 59-point loss matches the worst defeat in FIU history (59-0 at Penn State - 9/1/07).

FIU will enjoy a bye week before hosting Florida Atlantic on December 5 at 7 p.m. for the 2009 Shula Bowl. Last year the Owls beat the Panthers 57-50 in overtime.

Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns

Louisiana-Lafayette and Troy will meet for the 14th time, with the Cajuns holding an 8-5 edge in the series (Bustle 1-4).  ULL won the first seven meetings – all between 1946-52.  Troy has won four of five meetings against ULL since joining the Sun Belt Conference.  The Cajuns are 7-3 all-time in Lafayette , but 1-2 all-time at Cajun Field.  The Cajuns last won seven games in 1993 (8-3).

Against ULM , Chris Masson was 16-of-27 (59%) for 252 yards, his sixth straight game with 200+ yards passing and his third highest yardage total of the season.

Brad McGuire returned to action after a three-game absence and scored two rushing touchdowns to tie Masson for the team lead with six rushing scores.

Seven different players attempted a rush, while  nine different players caught a pass.  Ladarius Green returned from a three-game absence and had seven catches for 131 yards.  Green’s totals marked the second most receptions this season by a Cajun and the highest receiving yardage total since 2004 (second 100-yard receiving game by a Cajun in 2009).

The Cajuns are 112-of-182 passing (61.5%) with seven passing TD’s to just one interception in the team’s five victories.  ULL is 6-1 this season when the defense forces at least two turnovers.

The Cajuns have allowed only three sacks in their six victories.

Chris Masson has 206 completions, just 18 completions from tying the Cajuns all-time mark of 224, set by Jon Van Cleave in 2001.

ULM Warhawks

Frank Goodin became the 10th ULM player to rush for 1,000 yards in a season as he moved into sixth place on the ULM single-season rushing list with 1,086 yards.

Aaron Morgan moved into second place in the Sun Belt and fourth place at ULM with 22 career sacks after picking up one at UL-Lafayette. Morgan is now eighth on both the ULM and Sun Belt single-season lists with nine this year.

Frank Goodin is still just one rushing touchdown shy of tying Irving Spikes’ single-season ULM record of 14.

The Warhawks wrap up the regular season on Saturday against Middle Tennessee. A win would give ULM seven wins for the first time since 1993 and for the first time since moving to I-A.

Trey Revell’s five rushing touchdowns on the season are the most by a ULM quarterback since Kinsmon Lancaster had the same number in 2006.

Freshman tight end Keavon Milton has two catches on the season and both have been touchdown receptions.

Cardia Jackson moved into fifth place on the ULM career tackles list with 373 – he is jut 10 out of fourth and 23 out of third.

Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders

With the win today over Arkansas State , Middle Tennessee ran its record to 8-3 on the season and reached the 8-win total for just the second time in the last 15 years. The only other time during that stretch the Blue Raiders had 8 regular season wins was in 2001 when MT finished 8-3 and were co-champs of the SBC.

Junior Dwight Dasher tossed four touchdown passes against Arkansas State to run his season total to a career-best 19. That figure surpasses Wes Counts’ mark of 17 for the second most in a season and leaves him just two shy of equaling the school record of 21 set by Mickey Corwin in 1984. Dasher’s four touchdown passes also equal the third-most in a game behind the all-time record of six by Wes Counts against Idaho in 2001.

Dasher went over the 200-yard passing mark for the eighth time this season and the second game in a row with 263 yards against Arkansas State . Dasher has now gone over the 200-yard barrier 10 times in his career to rank sixth all-time. The record of 18 games is held by Wes Counts and Clint Marks. When Dasher tops the 200-yard mark the Blue Raiders are 8-2.

Under Rick Stockstill, the Blue Raiders are virtually a lock for victory if they put up 30 points or more. MT is now 17-1 under Stockstill when scoring 30 points, including a perfect 7-0 this season. The lone loss came at Louisville in 2007 when the Blue Raiders fell, 58-42.

Middle Tennessee ’s first touchdown of the afternoon against Arkansas State was an 80-yard pass from Dwight Dasher to D.D. Kyles. It went down as career longs for both players and equaled the fifth longest reception in school history with Clint Marks’ pass to Kerry Wright also against ASU in 2004. It also went down as the longest play from scrimmage for the Blue Raiders under Rick Stockstill.

North Texas Mean Green

Saturday’s attendance of 23,647 was a season-high at Fouts Field and the fifth highest attendance all-time.

North Texas’ first scoring drive was the second longest of the season ( Jackson TD-7:12), second only to last week’s drive at FIU in the second quarter (Dunbar TD- 8:08)

The Mean Green committed five turnovers, all of which came inside Army territory (three inside the 30).

Riley Dodge moved into fourth place all-time, past Steve Ramsey (195 completions in 1969) for passes completed in a season (202).

Dodge also surpassed Joe Milton (1,852 in 1970) for 10th place with 1,962 yards passing in a single season.

Dodge was responsible for 234 (172 passing, 62 rushing) of the team’s 241 first half total yardage.

Dodge gained a career high 94 yards rushing to move him into fourth place for most yards rushing by a North Texas quarterback in a single season (467).

Sophomore running back Lance Dunbar gained 124 yards rushing and moved past Malcom Jones (1,144 yards-1980) and Patrick Cobbs (1,154 yards-2005) for the fifth most yards rushing in a single season 1,244 yards.

Dunbar scored his 16th touchdown of the season, tying Michael Jones mark of 16 set in 1977, the third most in a single season.

Dunbar’s 68-yard touchdown run was his fifth run of 50 or more yards this season and seventh over 40 yards.

Troy Trojans

With the win over FAU, the Trojans improved to 12-1 all-time against the two Sun Belt Conference members from Florida . Troy now owns a 6-1 mark against the Owls to go with a 6-0 record against FIU.

Troy improved to 41-24 under Larry Blakeney in November games, 59-1 all-time under Blakeney when scoring at least 35 points and 83-12-1 all-time at home under Blakeney.

Troy has now scored at least 40 points in five straight Sun Belt Conference games. The Trojans are averaging 40.3 points per game in seven league victories this year.

Troy improved to 25-3 vs. Sun Belt Conference foes over the last four seasons with the victory over FAU. The Trojans’ .893 winning percentage in league games going back to 2006 ranks as the fourth best in the nation over that time, trailing only Boise State (29-1), BYU (28-3) and Ohio State (30-3). The win over FAU was Troy ’s 11th straight at home.

Troy teams under Larry Blakeney improved to 29-10 all-time when the team has a player pass for at least 250 yards in a game. Senior Levi Brown hit that milestone for the 14th time in his 19 career starts and is 10-4 when he passes for at least 250 yards in a game.

QB Levi Brown continues to climb the career passing charts at Troy . With his performance against FAU, Brown moved past Omar Haugabook into third in career passing yards with 5,605. Brown is currently fifth in career TD passes with 34, five behind Haugabook. Brown also stands fifth in total offense (5,658), within striking distance of Haugabook (6,306) for fourth.

WKU Hilltoppers

Sophomore kicker Casey Tinius tied a school record with four field goals last week at Louisiana-Monroe.  Tinius was good from 43, 41, 35 and 39 - hitting all four field goals on consecutive drives in the second quarter to give the Hilltoppers a halftime lead.  The 43-yard kick also tied a career long.

WKU held a 12-7 lead at haltime against ULM , marking the first time in 2009 that the Hilltoppers went into the locker room ahead at intermission.  The seven points allowed in the first 30 minutes were the fewest the Toppers had allowed in any half this season.

Sophomore running back Bobby Rainey rushed for a career-high 134 yards on 16 carries against the Warhawks - marking the second time this season that he has gone for over 100 yards on the ground.
