WKU 68, Cal-State Northridge 67

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) -Anthony Sally hit one of two free throws with 4.7 seconds left in the game to help Western Kentucky defeat California State-Northridge 68-67 on Monday night.

The Hilltoppers (2-1) didn't take a lead in the second half until 1:08 left in the NIT Season Tip-Off, and were able to stave off a 3-pointer try by the Matadors' (1-3) Mark Hill at the buzzer.

Sergio Kerusch paced the Hilltoppers with 24 points and nine rebounds. A.J. Slaughter and Jeremy Evans added 13 points apiece, and Steffphon Pettigrew chipped in 10 points and nine rebounds

Kenny Daniels led California State-Northridge with 19 points.

The Matadors held a 33-3 advantage in bench points, but the Hilltoppers were able to score 26 points off 24 California State-Northridge turnovers. Western Kentucky only got nine shots and 33 minutes from its bench players.

Manhattan 73, Florida Atlantic 66

NEW YORK (AP) -Antoine Pearson had 18 points and nine rebounds to lead Manhattan to a 73-66 win over Florida Atlantic on Monday night.

Patrick Bouli and Darryl Crawford each added 12 points for the Jaspers (2-2). Brandon Adams came off the bench to score 10 points.

The win snapped a two-game losing streak for the Jaspers, who lost both games by a combined total of 12 points.

The Jaspers led from start to finish and held a 30-23 lead at halftime. The Jaspers largest lead of the game was 49-37 with 11:40 remaining.

Raymond Taylor led the Owls (2-2) with 17 points. Shavar Richardson added 12 points and Greg Gantt had 11.

The Jaspers were 23-for-31 from the free-throw line while the Owls had only 19 attempts and made 14.

Poor shooting plagued the Owls, who made only 8 of 31 field goal attempts in the first half (25 percent) and were 22-for-64 (32.2 percent) for the game.

Murray State 84, FIU 71

MIAMI (AP) - Isacc Miles scored 16 points and Murray State beat FIU 84-71 on Monday night, giving Isiah Thomas his fifth loss in seven games with the Golden Panthers.

Danero Thomas scored 13 points, while Ivan Aska and B.J. Jenkins each added 12 for Murray State (4-1), the preseason co-favorite in the Ohio Valley. The Racers ended the first half on a 34-10 run.

Stephon Weaver had 23 points for FIU (2-5), which playing its final home game until Dec. 31. The Golden Panthers start a run of eight straight on the road Saturday at Eastern Kentucky.

The game capped the Miami regional in the 2K Sports Classic, benefiting Coaches vs. Cancer.

North Carolina A&T 65, Middle Tennessee 56

GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) -Dwane Joshua had 18 points and two others scored in double figures as North Carolina A&T beat Middle Tennessee 65-56 on Monday night.

Tavarus Alston scored 14 points and Austin Witter added 11 for the Aggies (3-2).

Nick Simpson and Robert Johnson had combined to shoot 22-for-56 from 3-point range this season, but together made only 2 of 12 against Middle Tennessee. Alston (4-for-8), Witter (3-for-4) and Joshua (3-for-7) combined to shoot 10-for-19 from 3-point range.

James Washington led the Blue Raiders (2-3) with 17 points.

The Blue Raiders shot only 30.4 percent (17-for-56) from the field and committed 21 turnovers. The Aggies converted the Blue Raiders' miscues into 25 points.

After a 27-24 halftime lead, the Aggies built a 12-point lead, 44-32, with 12:01 left. The Blue Raiders got as close as 50-47 but the Aggies closed with a 15-9 run.
