PARROTT AWARDS
PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Nate Rohnert, Denver, G/F, Sr. All-around threat ranks among SBC leaders in scoring (16.4 ppg), assists (4.6 apg) and field goal shooting (53.5 percent).
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Brett Royster, Florida Atlantic, F, Jr. Leads the SBC in blocked shots (2.9 bpg) and is fifth in rebounding (7.3 rpg) despite being in the doghouse earlier in the season.
COACH OF THE YEAR: Joe Scott, Denver The Pioneers lead the West Division and are off to their best start since 1995-96 under the third-year coach and former Princeton player.
NEWCOMER OF THE YEAR: Billy Humphrey, New Orleans, G, Sr. Georgia transfer has had an immediate impact in the SBC, ranking second in the league in scoring (17.2 ppg).
FRESHMAN OF THE YEAR: Raymond Taylor, Florida Atlantic, G, Fr. Undersized guard leads the SBC in assists (6.5 spg) and is third in scoring (16.8 ppg).
