Re: 2010 FAU PRIDE NIGHT

Glad to see this event is going to happen. I hope it becomes a new tradition at FAU. SAA worked very hard to put this together. Props to the Student Alumni Association, Mike Burdman and the others that continue to build tradition every day.

You should go to the event to find out!  :)

I'll defer to someone who has more intimate knowledge of it.

It's a big bell that will be rung after Owl Victories…

How did the bell get it's name? It is a wonderful idea, a tradition builder. 8)

Crash Taylor, whose wife works for FAU's Football program, is responsible for the funding of the bell…

The bell, which is impressive in size, will be transported to home basektball and football games and rung after each victory:

36" H x 15" W, 50 Pounds in weight, ridge polished brass bell with shackle…

They will build a wooden/metal cart to transport…

I think we all appreciate the generous gift. The Bell will help spark tradition at FAU and I hope it gets rung a lot. But personally, I would have liked to see something new and original get started at FAU. There are many college football teams with victory bells.

I think they need to ring that thing after every SCORE! (at least in football)(and yes, I see it is a VICTORY bell, but still, let it ring)

But great idea, I like!

Well, they do have the ear deafening CANNON…lol

Man, if you are down on the field by that thing when they fire it - look out!
