Talented guard could add to an already explosive backcourt
Florida Atlantic already has significant talent at the point guard position. But they will likely get a lot deeper and taller having received a verbal commitment from

Dennis Mavin - a skilled 6’-2”, 190 lb point guard at The Rock School in Gainesville, FL - according to Rock Head Coach Justin Harden.“Dennis had some other school options, but he really likes Coach Jarvis and appreciates what he is doing there and stands for”, Harden said. “He told them that he really wants to go there, is verbally committed, and will probably sign in the next couple of days.”
Mavin will be on the Boca Raton campus Wednesday and Thursday with his immediate family for an official visit to meet with the FAU staff.
“He’s had a lot of interest from around the country. A lot of different coaches have called and asked about him”, said Harden. “I think FAU has got a steal, they got a very athletic, talented player.”

Re: Men's Hoops Receives Commitment for 2010
I love how we're taking talent out of UF's backyard! The best line I heard while listening to a road game last year was about Greg Gantt after hitting like his 8th 3pt of the game- "How did Billy Donavan let this kid leave Gainesville???"
Has anyone else said they aren't coming back?

Also Teddy H mentioned that a couple of guys may not be back. any idea who? I called that one, you can't have 15 guys come in over a two year period and have everyone stick. sad but true.

Men's Hoops Receives Commitment for 2010
That's the difference…
And when you have no drop off at a position like that when half the other teams barely have one who can do it - pretty crazy!
Think the rat pack was a difference make last year, wait until you have three of them on the floor at the same time with height as well and see what will happen to Belt opponents.

My two favorite teams are FAU, and who ever is beating FIU!

Any word on Shipman?
I would also like to know the deal with Shipman because I've heard tremendous things about him from Gainesvillians.
