Not likely to affect us too much as we don't offer usually this early, but it would appear this will be very difficult to keep track of and police…regardless, to offer a 13 year old kid is simply absurd.

"Even in the sometimevs unsavory world of college football recruiting, eyebrows were raised in February when Southern California coach Lane Kiffin offered a scholarship to David Sills V, a 13-year-old seventh-grader from Delaware, after Kiffin had seen a highlight film of Sills.

The NCAA has since proposed a rules change, drawn up by the Division I Recruiting and Athletics Personnel Issues Cabinet, that would prohibit verbal offers of scholarships before July 1 following an athlete's junior year of high school."

Could help us in some ways.

It actually would help our recruitment style of "we only offer a player when we want them to commit." Then those prospects are thinking this is the way recruiting should be.

FIU offers anybody and everybody, once they see the potential for talent.

They offered Andre Debose and Ray Ray Armstrong when they were high school sophomores. So that could hurt them.
