The recent approval of funding for FAU's football stadium will further assist the university in its ability to recruit top-profile student athletes, national merit scholars and highly qualified graduate students. The university is on its way to becoming a beacon in the South, providing a home for energetic faculty, while inspiring alumni to return to their alma mater and engage in the life of this acclaimed institution of higher learning. The stadium will provide a rallying point for committed alumni to reconnect with their university, while spending quality time in a family-oriented environment. This decision will not only enhance the overall reputation of the university, but it also will provide additional benefits to the community at large. I applaud the Board of Trustees for moving the university one step closer to its goal.
