Some numbers from President Saunders' State of the University Address today

New enrollment: 28,233 undergraduate and graduate students (up 1.4% from Fall '09; we'll probably break 29k Fall 2011 and 30k in Fall 2012)
2700 incoming freshmen (up by 150 over Fall 09)
Average high school GPA is 3.4 (decent)
Average combined SAT score is 1620 (up 18 points from Fall '09; 1620 in old SAT I numbers is 1080, still not good)

Normally you might think that well over a 1/4 of undergrads would be freshman so based on that thinking our enrollment would be 10,000 tops. I might think the 2700 would be freshman living on campus but I don't know.

10% of our total student enrollment at UIW is incoming freshmen class.

I don't know the number to be fact or fiction, but think that it's accurate if President Saunders said it. FAU probably gets quite a few transfer students from community college.

And maybe the 2,700 number is "traditional, full-time, freshmen."

Who knows… but I'm glad to see we are over 28,000 in total enrollment! That's awesome!
