Western Michigan was starting a new quarterback with a tendency to run. This week against Florida Atlantic, the Michigan State defense will take on a quarterback who started five games last season and has talented receivers.

Jeff Van Camp is a fifth-year senior who threw for 254 yards and three touchdowns in Florida Atlantic's 32-31 victory at UAB last week.

"I think their quarterback is a good player," MSU coach Mark Dantonio said. "And (Lester) Jean, their wide receiver, had nine catches last week."
