Volleyball Swept by North Texas in Conference Opener

The FAU volleyball team lost to the University of North Texas in consecutive sets (15-25, 18-25, 18-25) on Friday in a Sun Belt opener for both teams.
The Owls (8-8, 0-1) hit just .108 for the night as the Mean Green (9-7, 1-0) displayed a decisive defensive effort with a 50-26 advantage in digs.
The Mean Green jumped out to a 2-0 lead before the teams broke for intermission.
Florida Atlantic kept things close early on in the third set, eventually tying things up at twelve all. However, North Texas enjoyed a 13-6 scoring advantage down the stretch to close the match out.
Christina Wallinger paced FAU with nine points, and six digs on the evening.
The Owls will conclude a three match home stand on Saturday at 6:30 p.m against Denver.
