Vince Young hurt in Titans game
Young, who threw a 23-yard touchdown pass to Kenny Britt(notes) on the opening drive, was helped off the field. The Titans said he sprained his left knee, and it was questionable if he would return.
He was replaced by Kerry Collins(notes).
Two years ago at Jacksonville, the Jaguars knocked Young out of the game in the season opener. Collins replaced him, the Titans went on to win the game and he took them to the playoffs. The year was memorable for Young going into a deep funk.
The door cracks for Rusty to play in an NFL game?

Re: Vince Young hurt in Titans game
Its conceviable that VY will be day to day for the next game. It all depends on how he progresses.
If he isnt strong enough I would imagine that Rusty would be marked Active for the next game but wouldnt see any time unless of course Collins got hurt.
To be honest, I dont think it would be good for Rusty to get in this year. Hes still adapting to the pro game and a full year on the Scout teams would help him better then sporadic starts IMHO.

Re: Vince Young hurt in Titans game
Both Vince Young and Kerry Collins sat out practice today. Vince with his sprain and Kerry Collins with a hurt middle finger. Sounds like Rusty got all the reps. ;D

Re: Vince Young hurt in Titans game
Collins, who was 11 of 16 for 110 yards and a touchdown Monday, did not practice because of an ailing middle finger. The veteran banged his right hand in the third quarter of the win but expects to be ready if Young can't play.
If neither quarterback is available, the Titans could look to Rusty Smith, a sixth-round draft pick out of Florida Atlantic.
"Either way, a job has to get done. We're confident in all three of our quarterbacks," receiver Nate Washington said. "Whoever has to be in there, we're not too much worried about it."
Should Smith get that improbable nod, Tennessee will likely lean heavily on All-Pro running back Chris Johnson as it tries to break a three-way tie for the AFC South lead.

Re: Vince Young hurt in Titans game
Quarterback Kerry Collins (finger) led the team practice on Thursday and said he felt good afterward.

Hope VY is a scratch on Sunday, and Rusty takes the backup role behind Collins.
