Given all of the bye weeks going on, Saturday's Sun Belt Conference action will be on the light side of the spectrum.
Here's the three game lineup for Week eight, October 23rd. Teams in bold are the desired winners for the Owls.
Florida Atlantic (1-4) vs Arkansas State (2-5) @ 1:00 p.m. - Sun Belt Network (CSS 32 Local)
Two teams will battle it out for the right to continue towards the post season. The question to beg: Who will be on the losing end of this tussle? Not the Owls. FAU conjures up enough needed production offensively to thwart the Red Wolves - on the ground.
Owl's Nest Game Preview
Louisiana Monroe (3-3) vs Middle Tennessee (2-4) @ 4:30 p.m. - ESPN3.com
The Blue Raiders have had a rough go of it for the first half of the season. When star QB Dwight Dasher got involved with an old card shark, things quickly went from conference favorite, and potential upset opponent, to "maintain face." Up until now, they haven't.
But Dasher is back, and they should cash in on Saturday against the Warhawks while picking up their second win in league play and sparking some competition at the top.
Dasher aims to make most of 2nd chance
Western Kentucky (0-6) vs Louisiana (2-4) @ 5:00 p.m. - UL Pay Per View
Can the Toppers shake a dreaded 26 game losing streak? Possibly. The line is just six points, proving that despite home field advantage, UL is not a clear favorite. In Bowling Green, the game would be even. And that is just how we see it. Keep a watchful eye on this one in the fourth.

Enjoy your weekend…….

Topper QB selected SBC offensive player of the week…
Sophomore quarterback Kawaun Jakes put together one of his best career games, helping the Hilltoppers to their first win in 26 contests. Jakes completed 18 of 22 pass for a season-high 262 yards and one touchdown. He also picked up 28 rushing yards and scored two rushing TDs. Jakes’ 262 passing yards and 290 yards of total offense were the most for him since his first career start when he passed for 276 yards and posted 320 offensive yards at Navy. Jakes led the Hilltoppers to scores on nine straight offense possessions as WKU scored its most points since early in the 2007 season. He also averaged 14.6 yards per completion.
